About
Gieneke beweegt zich op het snijvlak van kunst, educatie en coaching. In 2023 besloot ze haar eigen creatieve proces meer ruimte te geven, naast haar werk als docent en coach in het onderwijs. Een zoektocht naar bezieling en innerlijke transformatie vormt de kern van haar interdisciplinaire werkwijze. Brandnetels, industriële verfstalen, wijnkistplankjes en restmaterialen worden door haar omgevormd tot gelaagde werelden die het alledaagse in een ander licht plaatsen — werelden waarin het kleine geluk en de stille schoonheid van het onopgemerkte mogen oplichten. Naast Kairos — de god van het bezielde moment — vindt Gieneke inspiratie in sprookjes, filosofie en mythologische thema’s die een dieper inzicht bieden in de menselijke ervaring. Gieneke behaalde een eerstegraads bevoegdheid in tekenen en kunstgeschiedenis aan Academie Minerva in Groningen en heeft in Amsterdam de Master Kunsteducatie doorlopen. Tijdens haar jarenlange verblijf in Frankrijk doceerde ze ‘les arts plastiques’ aan de academie van Montpellier en verdiepte zich in hedendaagse kunst, kunstfilosofie en fotografie. Vanuit haar brede kunstzinnige achtergrond en haar affiniteit met breedvormend, ontwikkelingsgericht onderwijs, is ze nu werkzaam binnen het vrijeschoolonderwijs. Ze geeft periodeonderwijs en doceert tekenen en kunstgeschiedenis. Daarnaast begeleidt ze docenten en studenten als schoolopleider en coach. In haar atelier vloeien haar ervaringen samen: de kracht om creatieve processen in gang te zetten, haar liefde voor tekenen en schilderen en een coachende, reflecterende benadering. Nieuwsgierigheid, verbeelding en bezieling staan altijd centraal.
Gieneke moves at the intersection of art, education, and coaching. In 2023, she chose to give more space to her own creative process alongside her work as a teacher and coach in education. A search for inspiration and inner transformation lies at the heart of her interdisciplinary approach. Nettles, industrial paint samples, wine crate planks, and discarded materials are transformed into layered worlds that cast the everyday in a new light — worlds where small joys and the quiet beauty of the unnoticed are allowed to shine. In addition to Kairos — the god of the inspired moment — Gieneke draws inspiration from fairy tales, philosophy, and mythological themes that offer deeper insight into the human experience.
Gieneke holds a first-degree teaching qualification in drawing and art history from Academie Minerva in Groningen and completed the Master of Education in Arts in Amsterdam. During her years living in France, she taught les arts plastiques at the Montpellier Academy and deepened her engagement with contemporary art, art philosophy, and photography. With her broad artistic background and affinity for holistic, development-oriented education, she now works within Waldorf education. She teaches main lesson blocks as well as drawing and art history. In addition, she mentors teachers and students as a school-based trainer and coach.
In her studio, all her experiences converge: the ability to spark creative processes, her love for drawing and painting, and a coaching, reflective approach. Curiosity, imagination and inspiration are always at the core.
